My first ever full customization and first ever post here on the Realm: Marvel Legends Classic Giant-Man. Originally this was the Marvel Legends Infinite series modern Giant-Man from the Age of Ultron Build-A-Figure wave. For a while it was a good enough as it was with my Marvel Infinite Series 3.75 modern Wasp and other modern costume Avengers, I began to lean toward the classic costumes. After I got my Marvel Infinite 3.75 Classic Ant-Man, I knew I needed a classic Giant-Man and didn't want to get the ML Vintage series Classic Ant-Man. So I made my own. I decided to customize this because I thought that as Giant-Man, Hank would also increase his muscle mass in addition to his over all size and the Bucky Cap mold this uses was perfect. The ML Vintage Ant-Man would be too skinny. I disassembled him entirely, as well cracking open his torso, and washed him with soapy water. I used Tamiya Color glossy red, blue, and black and hand brushed it entirely. The 'Y' shape on this torso was the most difficult to do as I had to make sure the masking tape was aligned and then the chest and back circles had to be painted larger. I decided to give him the 'Y' shape instead of the 'V' shape because I went with the logic of the Avengers: EMH cartoon in making the Ant-Man and Giant-Man costume one and the same, the red Giant-Man cowl being under the Ant-Man helmet. Of course it doesn't match the 'I' shape of the 4-inch figure, but a black neck and then a red cowled head doesn't look good. The belt I made using a thin strip of black garter and cardboard circles painted black. There's also some red bleeding into the flesh color of his face from painting the head. But after accumulated hours of hard work, it's done and I'm proud of it! Enjoy, everyone! Please wait... |
Pictures
Giant-Man
Sorry of the backdrop, I didn't set up my usual when I picture it because I was eager to post them in my other group.
Before and After
I probably should have taken a picture of the original, huh?
Size changing
I actually based the pose on Ultraman.
Giant-Man and the Avengers
Line-up based on when Cap joined and before the Kooky Quartet.
