I started with inspiration from other custom king aliens, then the maquette king, kenner and rogue king. The King I have made is smaller than the Queen, but with insects, etc the females are a lot larger. This is my first attempt at a full paint job and sculpting with miliput. I used a dremel (do buy one) to hollow out and shape points. Miliput was used for the sculpt behind the head, arm and thigh ribbed areas to mimic the Alien's anatomy. Paints were mixed with green and brass colours. The brass was oil based. First I sprayed it all black and began layering the colours. I left the teeth until last. The base was the damaged alien warrior and the Diablo figure. The crown has parts from the Alien Spawn figure from Mcfarlane. A lot of the extras are bits cut from a broken Diablo figure I got off of ebay. I decided to do the teeth, spikes and claws in a brass colour for something different and royal. The mantis alien gave reassurance of this. Hopefully the pictures show this as it is quite hard to catch it at the right light angle. I hope this excites you all and gives you all inspiration for your projects, since Neca are still expanding on the Kenner line for Aliens. A King Alien is a must. ![]() |
