Hi, Guys !

I hope you all had a peaceful christmas-time !?

A very pitiable looking, stripped down troll, with cut off forearms, stood on my workbench for over two years now and gave me a look, of reproach, every time I was working on customs. Couldn’t stand this sight any longer...

After I‘ve almost lost myself, in being as movie-accurate, as possible, on the last few customs, I felt the strong need, to let creativity flow this time and just try to come up with something cool, without being bound to an existing design-guideline.

So here‘s „Rogash, the mighty troll of the north“.
A character, from the game „Battle for middle earth II / Rise of the witchking“.

Recipe :

The removable helmet is assembled, just from armor-pieces of a Sauron-figure.

Attached the left over forearms, of a cave-troll
Dremeled down the padding/straps, around the two bizeps and resculpted whole arms.
Hand- and forearm-guards are sculpted from scratch, just as the guards on the bizeps and the „jockstrap“.

Elongated the thighs, just to make him a little taller (mightier) and resculpted those areas.

Modified and resculpted the chest-armor and added the elongated straps of an „armored troll“. Faux-fur underneath.
Sculpted another armor-piece for the belly and each thigh.

Re-used two stripped troll helmets as shoulder-armor and the original forearm-, as shin-and hip-guards.

Tailored a chainmail from a plastic-tablecloth

Straps are made of faux-leather; clasps are made of epoxy sculpt.

The sword is completely made from scratch and since I find swords a little bit boring, I‘ve also made an more „interesting“ weapon, as well :

The mace is assembled from :
a piece of a cave-troll hammer
Shaft of a modified fluff roller
Blades (polystyrene)
Rubberbands
Toy-stone (of a catapult)
Chain-links
The human and the orc skulls are casted from resin.

Painted with paints of Citadel and Valejo.

Here‘s the back-story to Rogash :

When the Witch-king of Angmar arrived, Rogash was fighting a group of Black Númenórean infantry. The Witch-king and Morgomir helped him to kill the Black Númenóreans. Rogash explained to the Witch King that he wanted to unite the Snow Trolls, Hill Trolls and Dire wolves to steal gold and meat from the men of Arnor. The Witch-king told Rogash that if he wanted to unite all trolls, he would have to serve him. They advanced to the Hill of Snow Trolls where they found a group of Trolls fighting against each other, Rogash stopped the battle and the Witch King asked them to join him against the Black Númenóreans. They agreed to join and killed the all the Black Númenóreans that lived close to their hill. After moving north they found some trolls working as slaves and so freed them and built three fortresses to hold against the Black Númenórean's. After going south Rogash found a group of Cave Trolls and united them to his casue. Since the Black Númenóreans were launching a counterattack, the Witch King and Rogash fled to their southern fortress and defeated the Black Númenóreans when they arrived.
