So I took this tank apart, soaked it in a soap/vinegar wash. Then I dried the pieces. A lot of paint work went into this vehicle; first I used flat grey primer on the treads, I waited for that to dry. The next step was burnt amber paint for a rust wash, I utilized a dark earth brown, waited for that to dry. I used the "speckling" method for painting to get different shades and tones. Finally, I allowed that to dry, applying earth pigments after. Last of all, I carefully dry brushed gun metal on the high frictional areas of the tread. I added a panel line wash to the rest of the vehicle and applied Confederacy of Independent Systems decals for accuracy. I also hollowed out the barrels of the blaster cannons and added carbon scoring. Viola!
