Sky Raider is my latest original custom from my "Alternative WW2" series of figures.

The Recipe was as follows:

Base Figure-Madman
Straps were from some spare bits I had knocking about, the helmet is from Elite Force,as is the satchel on the figures leg, the pouches, the knife on the chest and holster around the ankles, the kneepads were from a Judge Dredd figure as was the pouch belt.

The 3 pouches on the figures chest are from the DC Direct Flash figure from "The Liberty Files",the Goggles are made from Plasticard and painted, the scarf if from LCBH Ripclaws arm and the rocket itself is from the Graphitti Madman figure with some spare bits from a model kit added to it.

The cables from the rocket pack to the wrist control are from Marvel Legends Pyro and the wrist control is from Star Wars. The Thompson machine gun is from a set of guns I found in a discount store -I added the scope, changed the barrel, stuck on the extra long magazine and the strap.

I haven't got a back story for this figure-I wanted to make a rocket trooper-my intention was to portray a soldier from an alternative WW2 where the Allies and the Enemy have more advanced tech, but not too futuristic looking,I wanted to retain the retro feel to the look of the figure-hence using quite drab and muted colours(this is also the look I want with my other alternative WW2 customs). I also wanted the figure to look loaded with gear as the WW2 parachute troops did-carrying the maximum of ammo and supplies.

The scarf was added to give the character a bit of flair as the aircraft pilots were considered dashing by many people.

The wrist control is supposed to give the figure control over the speed, angle, height and also control take off and landing for the rocket using the buttons on the wrist band. The harness that hold the rocket ot the figure was based on WW2 parachute harnesses with the quick release buckle in case the pilot runs into trouble.

As Sky Raider is a special soldier he deserves a special gun so I modified the Thompson to have a bigger magazine and a scope-a unique weapon for a unique hero.

Hope you like him-any comments/questions are appreciated. Thanks for looking
