One of the most compelling DC charachters from the 1990s, Connor Hawke made quite a splash when he was created, and quite a bigger splash once he succeeded Oliver Queen as Green Arrow after he sacrificed himself to save Metropolis from eco terrorists. The only action figure available to bear his likeness was that of the Total Justice /JLA series from Hasbro. Unfortunately as many of us know, he was not done properly in 6 inch form. Which is quite a disappointment actually. So...in honour of a great comic character, and since I'm laid off work due to the crappy coronavirus, I've taken upon myself to make my very first custom made Connor Hawke figure. I used the Ted Kord Blue Beetle DCUC body and repainted it with green and brown. The head was a bit of a challenge. The Sabertooth figure from the first X-Men film came along with a claw swiping action on a security guard. That guard was just standing on my shelf...like any guard...watching and waiting. So there was not much of a use for it. So I took the head off and resculpted it to fit a neck ballpoint joint and painted the hair blonde along with a green mask. For the belt I used a Marvel legends Deathlok figure. The Deathlok backpack has been repainted and remodelled as a quiver. The arrows are made of...you guessed it: tooth picks. Since I didn't want to buy any figure bows, so I put my crafting skills to the test and carved a bow out of wood and painted it brown. The hood is self tailored with wires and it can be taken off as well. While I have to say that the result is not 100% perfect, I was satisfied by the results.
