Red Leader's X-wing with Red Leader and R5-K6. I always thought it was odd we didn't get this X-wing variant. I used the "Alpha Series" X-wing (Biggs) that had the white bands on the engines. I used paint thinner to take off 2 red stripes on each wing. I used tape and connected the red stripes on each side of the ship. Then I dry brushed some gray on the bands on the engines towards the back, and a light blue in the front. I used the same blue for the cockpit area. Finally I weathered it.

I used a Luke figure and (tried) to add in the details. I gave the helmet a bit of a beige color like Red Leader's. For the droid I used a R5 unit from the Micro Machines Luke's Binoculars/Yavin Rebel Base set. I painted it red and added in the black details (again, tried). I used my dremel very quickly to open up the peg socket.
