The Tonnika Sisters, like many of the best Star Wars characters appeared on screen for mere seconds in the Cantina scene of A New Hope. Listed as just "Space Girls" they were eventually identified as Brea (in blue) and Senni (green) Tonnika, identical twin con artists from Kiffar. Except, they were portrayed by separate actresses who weren't identical (or even the same height) so it was further retconned in the Timothy Zahn short story "Hammertong: The Tale of the Tonnika Sisters" that the two in the Cantina were Mistryl Shadow Guard warriors Shada D'ukal and Karoly D'ulin, masquerading as the Tonnika Sisters in the course of a mission. Whichever version you choose to believe, I decided to differentiate the twins makeup to match the two actresses who portrayed them in the film. Senni Tonnika was played by Angela Staines and was slightly taller than her sister. To make the Sisters I started with an Admiral Holdo body (at least something good came from the character) and sculpted on the panties, gauntlets, neck piece, and raised the boots a little. I then modified the belt from ANH Leia to closely resemble the two similar belts the Sisters wore (Senni's had more a of a V-shape dip to it). And then I painted two great looking 3D heads I got from Watto's Scrapyard, though I did have to remove some of the hair so that the head would sit low enough on any body. I actually had these done a while ago, but since the Cantina set was coming out from Hasbro I wanted to wait for that set to take a bar shot you can view in the Brea Tonnika post. Thanks for looking! Please wait... |
