Another favorite powerup from SMB3 (and one that needs to return!). The figures I used were a standard Mario and Hammer Bro from the World of Nintendo/Super Mario line, and a Buzzy Beetle from SH Figuarts for the shell. Basically, all I did was dremel out the Hammer Bro and Buzzy Beetle so I had the helmet and shell left. I repainted them both with Abaddon Black as its a shiny black, and the helmet and shell are shiny. I drilled a hole into Mario's hand for the hammer. I removed Mario's hat and filed down the head peg so the helmet would fit properly. The chin strap is a piece of poster board glued on. Even though in the game when Mario gets the powerup his overalls change to black, I opted to go by the artwork with the red shirt/blue overalls. I also touched up the buttons and repainted them yellow as some paint came off there.
