My favourite musical is The Phantom of the Opera, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Charles Hart and Richard Stilgoe. I made a custom action figure of the Phantom, based on his appearance in the musical, five years ago. Something I was intimidated by at the time was creating an unmasked head featuring the Phantom's deformity, a key element to his character. I finally decided to take on the challenge of making an unmasked head with an approximation of the deformity originally designed by makeup artist Christopher Tucker.
I had originally wanted to use Morlun as a base, but then decided to use the less bulky young Nick Fury as a base, using Morlun's jacket. I sculpted on the front of the shirt and the bowtie. The unmasked head is heavily modified from a movie Young Magneto, while the masked head is a cast of that same head that had been sculpted over. The hands are from movie Professor X. Thanks for looking and helping me make the music of the night!
"SING FOR ME!" This is another very cool, classy custom Phantom! I like the unmasked style that you decided to make this time. I think your first two photos are especially good with fog and light effects. Also, nice class of 2021 group pic to show your complete work from this year.
Thank you for your kind comment Ric! The year-end round up is something I always look forward to. I didn't make as many customs this past year as in previous years because of work, but it's still nice to look back on the customs I did make.
