I wanted to make a custom hybrid Catwoman with cues from Batman Hush and the Arkham series games, that would also scale well with the DC Collectibles Essentials line of figures. I originally started out with the Arkham Knight version of Catwoman, but that version (while nice) didn’t quite hit all the notes I was looking for. I wanted, at the very least, to have a very poseable Catwoman. With that in mind, I used the McFarlane Selina Kyle Catwoman figure from the Batman movie that recently came out. Once I completed a Thigh cut mod, she hit the notes on poseability. It was about this time that I discovered the Bishoujo Catwoman statue, which took my breath away (I wish they made action figures and not just statues)! Two things were still lacking though - the chest looked a little deformed with the upper part of her suit appearing sunken in, and the headsculpt was TBH not doing Zoë Kravitz or the character justice. So the chest and overlying suit torso got modified and sculpted to better approximate the look of the Bishoujo Catwoman statue. The headsculpt gave me a lot of pause. I was almost going to try to make my own sculpt based off of a ML What If… heist Nebula head, but then I decided to take a chance on a bendyfigs Catwoman. A bit of a head transplant later, and voilà!! I present to you my version of a super poseable Catwoman! I’m quite happy with how this one turned out overall. Cheers!
Go for it!!! The hardest part was sculpting the chest. If you have a good measuring caliper and access to a drill press or dremel tool, then the bendyfigs head transplant is pretty straightforward. The only thing that would have been better is if the bendyfigs head goggles were movable (I might get a second head to see if I can make this happen)
Excellent work! Catwoman is one of my favourite characters to make and see customs of. The mods on the chest worked really well, and the BendyFigs head is a seamless fit. The unmasked Selina Kyle headsculpt by McFarlane is such a shame; I wish I could get a hold of the Spin Master one but shrunken down from 1/6 to 1/12 scale.
Agree! It would awesome to have that headsculpt shrunken down. Maybe someone with a scanner and resin 3D printer can resize it? I believe they do have some custom 3D printed 1/12 Zoë Kravitz heads on eBay now…
