I decided to give Jean a leg(s) transplant, as the original ones were too short and thin. The upper legs are White Rabbit, lower legs Kitty Pryde. As well, I recoloured the hair to match the previous Jean/Phoenix figures. Thanks for looking, and feel free to comment.
Did you use the boots from the blue masked costume Kitty Pryde (from Meggan + Britain 3 pack)? If so, do the White Rabbit upper calf pegs snap into them naturally, or did you have to do some extra dremeling/routing? Thanks for all your help!
Thanks for your reply, but I'm rather confused by your answer. The Juggernaut wave Kitty Pryde does not have swivel/detachable boots. If you used her particular "boots", you would have to cut them off on the upper calves, then dremel out holes that would fit White Rabbit's upper calf pegs. Is that what you did? Or did you remove Kitty Pryde's entire calves at the knee joints and attach them to White Rabbit's knee joints, then repaint the upper calves skin tone color? Also, the boots on your custom have cuffs around the top edge that look very similar to the blue + yellow team suit X-Men females I mentioned, which is why I asked.
To clarify: The flesh-coloured legs are White Rabbit, above and below the knee. The Kitty Pryde lower legs (boots) were cut from the figure, and attached to the White Rabbit legs. I believe I just glued them on, so they don't retain articulation. Also, if I recall correctly, they didn't match up exactly, so I added the boot cuffs to even them out. It was either that or sand down the White Rabbit calves, but I didn't want to ruin them. Hope this answers your questions.
What a lovely upgrade! Did you remove the old legs at the hip joints or the thigh swivel joints? I would like to do something similar with the purple skirted Gwen Stacy figure, but the skirt is quite an obstacle.
Thanks for the comments. I believe I attached the whole leg to the ball joints at the hips/groin. The thighs are thicker, so you'll have to cut the skirt slightly to widen it.
