I had always wanted to use the Havok body for something. I had it for 2 years before I settled on Red Hood. The figure has 2 heads (both came from eBay). The boots are from the black daredevil figure, hands are from DCUC sportsmaster, and the belt came from ROML Drax. The logo is sculpted with apoxie and the whole figure was given a custom paint job. It was my first time sculpting and really my first full custom figure project. I had a blast and can’t wait to sharpen my skills. Comments are appreciated!
Welcome to the Realm. Awesome great first custom... for the Batman symbol I would have cut out foam sheets and glued it to the chest. Can't wait for your next custom.😉😉
Always great to see Red Hood customs, and congratulations on making your first full custom! I think you did really well. My main suggestion would be to sculpt the logo a little sharper and cleaner, using the edges of the Exacto knife to shape the Bat-symbol, and then sanding it down after it's cured, before painting the logo. Thank you for being open to feedback!
Thank you! I would definitely agree about the logo. I had tried using a toothpick initially and that proved disastrous. I’ll definitely be using an Exacto knife for future sculpting. Thanks for the feedback!
You're very welcome! If you would like a suggestion for an easy way to make the holsters, what I usually do is cut a small strip of cloth, make a loop, then glue the ends, so that a pistol can fit into the loop. I then attach that to the leg. You just want to make sure that The strip is the right length so that there's enough contact between the two ends when you glue them, and so you create a hole to fit the pistols.
Thank you for the holster idea! I mostly wanted something to hold the knife. I’ll be sure to try making holsters for some other customs down the line!
