I have to admit that I'm not that big of a fan of the Marvel Ultimate Universe, but I really like the design for the Ultimate Thor. And I wanted to make a version that included the things that I liked best. The Marvel Select Ultimate Thor had some great features, but he seemed kind of "squatty" to me. Also, his face was stuck in a perpetual expression of constipation. Additionally, the hair looked like a discount toupee thrown over his scalp. I had been wanting to make a more articulated version, but I have been waiting for just the right head, then I saw Thor29379's Ultimate Thor and saw that the original face looked pretty good when sculpted over. So I added a full beard to the original head, pulled off the hair and repositioned it, and added some FIXIT sculpt to the top of the head. I had also seen several pictures of Ultimate Thor with armbands, after doing some research, I found that there seemed to be several variations of them. So I decided to go with a pretty simple look that was kind of inspired by all of them. In keeping with Thor's traditional motif, I made the inner parts of the armbands with three straps. I also carved out a couple of "glow-in-the-dark" discs from a spare Ultimate Thor that I had and used them in the outer parts of the armbands. I didn't like the strap on the hammer, so I cut it off and put a semi-adjustable one on (it can actually wrap around his wrist while he is holding it). The upper half of the Marvel Select Ultimate Thor was placed on the bottom half of the WWE Deluxe Agression "Edge" figure, then I put the MS version's boots on the legs. I don't remember what the original height of the Marvel Select Ultimate Thor was, but this one is at least a head taller and now has extra hair as well as articulation. Hope you like!
