Yes, I know, Hasbro just announced a Mara Jade for their Black Series line today. I actually finished her a few weeks ago but was being lazy about pictures, so tonight seemed as good as any time. This is actually my second attempt at her. The first time, like many others, I used some ML arms and the Black Widow hair that was already a nice red color. But when she was amongst my other figures, the arms looked too buff for a female in a galaxy far, far away, and the head just looked like Black Widow to me no matter how I tried to convince myself it was Mara. But then I came across a cool 3D printed Mara Jade head from Scoundrels Stock that made her look more like her own person. And then I swapped the standard ML arms for the upper arms of an MCU Gamora, and the lower arms from another MCU figure but it's been so long since I started this that I can't remember exactly who, but combined they look more like regular, athletic female, and less like an exaggerated superhero. At least to me. The rest of the build was pretty much the same except Hasbro was nice enough to make Ninja Power Rangers in between my two Mara versions and the neck scarfs they come with were almost perfect for Mara Jade (I did have to sand it down a touch because of her hair). Nesides that the torso, knee pads, and shoulder harness are from an ML Domino (all modified slightly). The hands, upper legs, and belt came from a BS Kaina Solo, while the lower legs were from a BS Padme with some shoulder armor sculpted on. The saber hilt came from a seller on eBay named lightning.count.customs, though I did have to add the ring on the bottom so it could hang on her belt. And with that I'm much happier with my Mara Jade. Thanks for looking! May the Force be with you! ![]() |
