Laser Cut Acrylic, PVC pipe, turned wood "bell" and "chimney", cut vinyl decals, brass rod "whistle", paint, glue, etc.
This is a pretty important vehicle from the anime "Hamtaro", and despite a large toy line by Epoch, was never manufactured. Last year I decided to start collecting this toy line and applied my newer fabrication skills to make my first custom in about a decade to make a Ham-Ham Express, treating it as a scaled replica of what's seen in key screen shots.
I designed everything in Adobe Illustrator to be laser cut from 1/16", 1/8" and 1/4" acrylic. The main tube/engine of the train was a PVC pipe with lines scored in with a band saw, the face of the train/front of the engine was cut from a spherical acrylic ornament. The "cow catcher" bit in front is another PVC pipe with vertical lines cut with the band saw. There's over 100 pieces to this. Pretty fun little build.
