Synopsis: Wingnut and Screwloose appeared in the Archie Comics Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures first in TMNT Adventures #8—presented here for the first time as a team, Wingnut and Screwloose would later become part of The Mighty Mutanimals an offshoot of the Archie comics.

Wingnut and Screwloose are symbiotic aliens from the distant planet Huanu. The planet wxisted in a perpetual red night, which suites just fine the nocturnal bat-like creatures that where once Wingnut’s race.
Sadly, an alien invasion force led by Krang destroyed Huanu and all of Wingnut's species, driving him insane with grief. Howewer, this species formerly existed in harmony for millions of years with anither weird species of aliens, of which the mosquito-like Screwloose is one.
Incredibly, the race of creatures to which Screwloose belongs exists by drinking the blood of Wingnut's people. In return, the bite of Screwloose is the only way someone like Wingnut can ever get to sleep!
Due to an unfortunate birth defect that left his wings weak and underdeveloped, Wingnut is forced to wear a pair of artificial wings to fly, metallic wings which, in an encounter with a gigantic serpent, were destroyed. However, Wingnut has recently been working out to help develop his wings and has since been successful in using them to fly very short distances.

Powers & Weapons:
Because of their intense symbiotic relationship, Wingnut and Screwloose literally cannot survive without the other. Yet this mutual need only strengthens their undying friendship, which is their greatest power.
Wingnut and Screwloose are very sarcastic, too, and like to insult both their friends and enemies by referring to anyone who isn't like them as "plankton-chips".

Recipe: I had had an incomplete Wingnut figure back from my childhood. There was very difficult to find carded original figures in 90th in Russia. It either were only the main characters, or the most popular foes. So I only managed to get Wingnut figure without accessories back then (and without wings of course). I made him wings myself already that time.
Much later, when I have finally completed my Playmates TMNT collection, I decided to put that figure into production. And there appeared Archie's Wingnut. Wings are made of old rubber boots strengthened with metallic plates from constructor set. It remained only a small matter of Screwloose.
I occasionally have found a mantis figure from some choco egg. Changed his arms, modified head and made wings from Jägermeister box...
