I had a Shadow Jakks figure that had some defects that prevents me from doing much for posing him. Mainly that the left shoulder could not move. So I decided to customize the figure into a Shadow Cosplayer because I figured it would be a relatively easy first custom on a Sonic toy. (Think of her being a Mobian going to a convention or something like that). I took off the figures head, hands, and feet. And I put them on a Capsule Chix doll body with the lower legs removed. I then added some clay to smooth out some of the facial features and change the eye shape. This was to make the base figure look like a different character, and more feminine. Then I sculpted the hair, back quills, tail, and chest on the figure with air dry clay. And sanded them flush against the figure. Then I painted everything with the exception of the gloves and shoes, which I glued on after I painted everything. I then added some eyelashes made out of paper, paint and glue. Sprayed with sealant and glazed the eyes and nose with watered down glossy Mod Podge. She isn’t the most articulated figure or anything. But for being something I came up with on a whim. I am quite happy with how she turned out. ![]() |
