Cerebus the Aardvark (Independent Comics) Custom Action Figure
I forgot that I had actually heard of this guy before. I never read the series, but I've seen the design around a lot. So, when it came up and I realized that I'd see the character before, I was very excited. So, Cerebus the Aardvark was a self-published comic series starting back in 1977. Crazy to think of back in that period. It began as a parody of Sword and Sorcery comics before evolving into a more serious and dramatic series. Which is also very impressive. Usually, a change like that would damage a series, and it seemed to benefit Cerebus even more. He's a cool character and was an insanely fun project to fix up. And I got to see how well these Ewoks work as bases. It's an Ewok. Top to bottom. Cut down and resculpted the entire head. Sanded down the whole body, then sculpted it smooth, then sculpted on the jacket and the gold on his chest. Assuming that's a necklace or something? Cut the hands to resculpt them with three figures, then sculpted up the entire sword. From there, a full repaint, and all done! Please wait... |
