Thanks Guys!!! I felt when I was doing the submission work for my son that I maybe should have said it was from a 12 year old, but I figured... What the hell. I didn't know this type of work was being done or what to expect with comments and such so I just submitted the stuff with what my son told me to say. After we saw the comments, I explained to him that this kind of thing is expected and that not everyone will like his work but that if he enjoys doing it then he shouldn't stop but try to learn from what others say. However, this coming from his Dad is not the same as hearing it from others that create these customs. Since he has read your recent comments he is no longer discouraged. So once again, Thanks.
Also, some of you have asked about his Evo Magneto. I don't recall when or where, but he swears he got it at Wal-Mart. His Mom and I don't let him do any customizing to his Action Figures unless he has duplicates.

its also a good thing you get to start at such a young age, I started at the age of 20...so you definitely got the advantage with having all these nice figures around also ^_^

Its good to know that this is just the begiing for him. PLease do not take everything we had to say to heart. Until know we had no idea that this was coming from a youth. I am glad you joined the boards to inform us of that, for awhile I think some of us thought that somebody was just sumbiting these as a goof.
For little Flameon keep at it. It takes awhile but I'm sure with enough practice you'll be schooling us in no time.

What they all said, we all gotta start somewhere even if that somewhere doesn't turn out to great. I just started customizing and am in the middle of my first. the best thing you can due is practice, plan and ask for help from some of the regulars here. You really arent off to a bad start, your figures have been getting better with each new one.

Flameon14372: Whatever you do... don't STOP customizing and trying new things. I think your work is very good, better than what I was doing at 12, which was still drawing stick figures on paper... oh wait, I STILL do that! LOL. Talent and creativity is a gift, and it obvious you've been blessed and bitten by the creativity bug. I, too, am a creator of sorts... a writer and started doing it pretty much around your age. My stories back then are ones that I look at now and smile, it is after all the BEGINNING of something that can grow and flourish as long as you put the work and effort into it. Don't be deterred by the comments you read... take some of the advice if you want and if not, continue to do what YOU FIND INTERESTING! After all, not everybody is blessed with the ability to create things from their hands and imaginations. Don't sell yourself short... continue the good work, LittleFlameGuy

Doc is right... I think it's their way of saying WELCOME...
If you can check on the first customs submitted by most/some creators, you can also see a lot of criticism or maybe some coz some of 'em really suck... but after that, they help/teach us on how to improve... like how to sculpt, paint a straight line, or even shatter a figure to a million pcs and put it back together...
so don't be discouraged... ur only 12 and I started customizing last year when I was 21... so the only way to go is up... PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE!!! til ur dad's wallet is as thin as paper...

To be honest, hearing that your son was discouraged saddened me. The vast majority of commentary toward your son's customs has been positive WITH some suggestions. Doc Nightmare is right, ALL OF OUR 1ST CUSTOMS SUCKED! Keep ya head up, lil flame on! Keep on practicing! submit figures you r sure will kick bum! Stick to painting for now. IE: turn a regular Spidey say, into a BLACK spidey! or a superman into a helmet-less Magneto! DON'T LET ANYONE STOP U FROM DOIN' WHAT YOU LIKE, LIL' FLAME ON!

And that's because I've been deleting the worst of the replies
Like I and many others have said before, with a little refining yer boy will be good in no time. He just has to learn to paint in a straight line (which isn't hard at all with a little masking tape).
I'd say leave the sculpting alone until you've got the painting figured out. Even the best statues look awful with a bad paint job (and it's not that his paint job is bad, it looks quite smooth, it's just sloppy. Practice practice! )
Good old fashioned ribbing is common among customizers because we all started out the same way (it's just more fun to make fun of each other's work than our own )

I thought I should let everyone know, that the creator for this and the other Flameon14372 customs is 12, and this is the first time he had ever done anything like this. I have been submitting them on his behalf. Although I appreciate the criticism and feedback you are providing my son he is a bit discouraged at continuing to do this stuff. You may want to think next time before you start slamming creators. I have explained to my son that he should not be discouraged and continue but try to learn from what you all have said. Thanks FatherFlameOn.
