Baroness
Intelligence Officer
Cobra Command

Character:

The Baroness has been a fixture of the A Real American Hero line since its debut in 1982, first as a comics-only character, then followed by figures.

Colors/Design:

I’ve resisted, for the most part, tipping my toes into the Classified series. I already have a house full of 1:18 toys, and am out of space to start a 1:12 collection.

The Classified Baroness is absolutely perfect in every way and impossible to ignore. My goal here wasn’t to directly duplicate it, but to carry over the look of black armor over a burgundy bodysuit. Instead of accent panels of burgundy like the Classified version has, here the entire bodysuit is burgundy - really closer to dark purple on this custom - to provide more contrast agains the red Cobra sigil.

The metallic charcoal on the shoulder padding provides a color break between the gloss black of the hair and gloss black of the contoured body armor.

The Fornite pistol was perfect as-is. No painting required!

Instead of the double kidney holsters, I kept the solitary leg holster, which is balanced out by the ribcage straps opposite it, and then more asymmetry with the shoulder armor up top.

The wedge-shaped Han Solo feet extend the legs and give better proportions to the NS design.

As I work on this figure, I’m busy with my Eco-Warriors set, which includes alternate pop-off helmeted heads. That’s the only reason I’m not making one here. However, an alternate helmeted head (not wearable) completes the overall design from the CS figure.

A fantastic ToyHax decal provides the Cobra sigil on the chest armor. I had one sigil that was a bit too small and one that was a bit too large to chose from. I chose from the larger one. It’s not enough to overpower the design, but very close.

Sculpting:

The spikes were removed front the helmet.

The hair on the Padme head was removed, and the glasses were sculpted on with epoxy. The head was then epoxy blended onto the neck. The hair was glued on the head, with some hot glue used to fill gaps.

Epoxy also fill/smooths the thigh screw insets and pin holes at the elbows/shoulders, as well as a flat surface for the chest sticker.

The gunbelt is cut to fit the smaller waist.

The Scarlett feet were cut off, with the better-sized Han Solo ones glued on. Likewise, the strange tiny left Padme hand was cut off and replaced with a larger one.

The COILS motorcycle is in the works…

Thanks for looking.

Pictures
Front
A mix of Marvel, GI Joe New Sculpt, Star Wars, and Fortnite pieces do a good job of approximating the Classified Series design in 1:18 scale. The glasses are painted solid as a stand-in for clear at this format.
Side
The twin kidney holsters of the Classified Series pistol are replaced with the one thigh holster here.
Back
The motorcycle helmet appears hollow, but it's a prop piece, not a swappable head.
