This is a fairly simple repaint and removal of stickers. The original bike was green, however it is silver in the comic. I took the bike apart, scraped off the stickers and painted the body silver.
The bike features dual missle launchers and a pop up laser cannon in the front.
Well I don't think of them as dolls. I think of them as action figures. I hate the coats they make for figure out of cloth or rubber. The cloth ones are always too small or too big and poorly sewn with loose thread everywhere. The rubber ones always chip if take them off an put them on repeatedly. Grifter's coat is my own work and I'm pleased with it. It allows for poses that wouldn't be possible with a rubber coat because it won't chip or break if bent too far.
yeh, don't get me wrong man. But I hate when action figures have real clothes like that dumb ripped shirt on hulk, and I think that gambit looks pretty lame too. this grifter is the only time I've actually liked "textile meets plastic". I think of them more as statues then dress up dolls. just my opinion.
"Perfect" and "Rubber Coat" can not be used in the same sentence Oh and in case anyone notice or cared, Grifter's hair is this new color you see in the bike pictures. Before it was bright yellow, but I toned it done to a realistic shade.
beutiful pic. I'm gunna read your tuorial sounds real handy for using those darn old school, uncompatible heads a have a bunch of. If my grifter turns out half as cool as yours its deffinatly a keeper. I'm gunna use a rubber cout though. I have the perfect one.
I didn't actually use ball bearing magnets. I used regular steel bearings (about 3/4 I think). If ordered them on a website from a guy. My tutorial is in the tutorial section of the site. And yes, that is quilty paper towel in the bg. I usually use blue shop paper towels, but I used them up. I need to get a colored poster board
that is radassbadtastic VP. I just got the grifter bot set from back in the that comes with the bike and I was gonna make one like your first submission (hope you don't mind). Grifter kicks A$$ where did you find the BB magnets?
