Way back when I first saw Kyle Robinsons torn mask tutorial, I knew it would work great for a War-Torn Superpatriot. And now I finally finished it. OK, used the Superpatriot base figure. The alternate, unmasked head. Dipped half the head into Plasti-Dip a couple of times. Then cut out around the eyes and shredded the edges. Drilled the bullet holes making sure not to go all the way through. I just wanted an indentation. Went to town with various dremel accessories to do the battle damage. Deep cuts and gouges, more bullet holes and just used the sanding wheel in various places. I sculpted the tiny torn shirt areas using fixit (which was a pain because they're so small I could only sculpt a few at a time without messing them up) The hands were from a ML Heroes reborn Ironman figure pegged into Superpatriot's forearms. They bend, but don't rotate, but the forearm still spins. The left "broken" arm was made buy cutting Superpatriot's left gun arm apart at the elbow and then adding some lose wires and hoses. The gun still attaches via the silver craft wire for a "half-broken" look. I also cut up his shoulder pads a little.

The metal parts were painted with Gunmetal then drybrushed with steel and then multiple washes/wipes with black to give it a dingy/dirty metal look. I painted the shirt with either leather or burnt sienna, can't remember. Then I drybrushed over it with testors wood color. I think that alone greatly improves the figure over the awful factory paint job given to the shirt. Then I added some mud/blood/oil splatter. Drybrushed black around the bullet holes for a burnt appearance. Painting the mask wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The stars aren't all uniform size, but that's ok, he's worn-torn for cryin' out loud.

The desert-looking base I think came from a McFarlane military figure with some blood splatter on the ground (I tried to make the picture look as if Superpatriot was about to collapse) The second base came from a McFarlane Al Simmons figure.

SuperPatriot is one of my favorite characters and this is one HELL of a figure. Looks like he just went 3 rounds with the Covenant of the Sword (again LOL), and the attention to detail is just awesome. Great, great job- if I had some extra scratch, I'd be trying my best to buy this off of you. Awesome work, just awesome.

Amazing job! I think I'll try and do something similar with a Terminator T-888 figure soon if I can locate some Plasti-Dip.
