Nova (Frankie Raye) (Marvel Legends) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:13401
Name:Nova (Frankie Raye)
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Marvel Legends
Creator:Wings
Date Added:March 18, 2009
Base Figure:ML Wasp
Height:6.00 inches
To be honest, when I first heard we were getting Nova in Marvel Legends, I thought it was the golden Herald herself, Frankie Raye after having the 5 inch version when I was a kid. As she turned out to be a he, I thought it as time to submit a custom of the Surfers ex squeeze. Used a Wasp body with smoothed hips and crotch with a Psylocke head. I was gonna use the 5 inch hair but it looked awkward so I dremelled the face from a Marvel Select Phoenix and added the hair to the figure then used hot glue and ink to blend it to the right size. The paint is a chrome spray with my first go at Testors ink - waaaay better than Citdel inks imho. I went over the highlights with thinners to get the silver back similar to how the ML5 Surfer had the toning to it too. Hope you like!

This is fricken awesome! I had such a big crush on her back in the early 90's until they killed her off in SS 75.

Thanks everyone - I've only really used hot glue for enery signatires before on customs like Jean and Clea. I'm in the process of snowing up a Frost Giant with the stuff so here's hoping he's as popular

Gasp! Herald snogging!
Galactus will have to crack down on his work force... especially after what I heard Airwalker and Firelord got up to in the lav at the Christmas party!
Great custom though! Your a braver man than me to tackle the Nova hair dilemma. You really managed to get the right firey effect though.
I always thought we would get a Frankie Raye Nova in the Marvel Legends series as it would've been a great way for the companies to make a plain female body that could spawn a thousand repaints. Alas, 'twas not to be.

Great job; hot glue does indeed have many uses if you're creative!
