Hello again First of all I'd like to thank everybody who left comments for my first custom You guys know how to make a newcomer feel welcome
Now on to custom #2 of my collection Sorry the text is a little long but for those of you brave enough to read it anyway there's a little game at the end (or you can just skip there right now;-)
The basic idea was to make a modern Luke Cage that would fit better among my New Avengers I had a flash of inspiration when I saw my Bishop variant The head was just right But obviously the rest of the figure wouldn't work for a civilian Luke So I decided to go for an update of his traditional "superhero" look (the Web of Shadows video game was a huge inspiration)
With that said I still had to get rid of the holster (easy to cut off) the shoulder straps and X logo (not so easy) At the time I didn't envision sanding I didn't have the necessary tools nor sanding paper and I wasn't sure it would work without damaging the figure which I couldn't afford as it was very hard to obtain (I live in France) So I used my trusty tape (a fixture in most of my work :-) to cover the straps and logo and create a makeshift tee shirt Hence the fact that it isn't perfectly smooth despite multiple coats of paint I also used tape to cover the knee pads The rest was easy I just repainted the figure (I'm kinda proud of how the face and wristbands came out) The big A logo was cut from the backing board of the figure and stuck with tape
And now the promised game Can you guess who the Jessica Jones in the third picture was made from? Answer coming up soon
