Deadpool (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) (X-Men - Movies) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:14875
Name:Deadpool (X-Men Origins: Wolverine)
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:X-Men - Movies
Creator:glennwebman69
Date Added:May 21, 2009
Base Figure:WWE Deluxe Aggression Kenny
Height:7.00 inches
This figure was a natural progression after my Sabretooth custom and 2nd in my Wolverine Origins (aka: I Hate Hasbro) series. Not that much work here. Had to grind away the hair and the figure's vest. Then used apoxie sculpt to fill the mouth and do some minor sculpting to shape the head which after grinding looked a bit too egg-shaped. The swords came from a pre-Legends Spiral. Painted with Citadel paints except the surgical markings for which I used a Sharpie marker.

Great job on this twin or cousin of Baraka, great likeness in the face, he really looks like Ryan Reynolds.

I actually ended up doing pumps by accident, I couldnt find my weapon x feet and got lazy, just got lucky I guess, I totalled my marker too. I blame fox for everything

I struggled for good reference pics with this one and used pics from the end fight sequence hence without bandages. He must have been barefoot in surgery as him being barefoot is what really struck me when I saw the movie and first thought of doing the custom. I certainly couldn't find any full body shots online to confirm that but Wings saw the movie later and assured me he wore black pumps. I just checked out your Deadpool and really dig the surgical markings. I was impatient and did not quite wait for the paint to dry on my figure and it ended up killing my Sharpie. As for the blades - life's too short sometimes.

Nice work bub. Ont the subject of the eyes the scar tissue turns from red to black when he uses his optic blasts as the flesh burns (I did my versions eye ares black-check it out if you want) and the bandages were on present on the operating table scene. Your paint job is amazing, my omnly tiny gripe is the bades should come out with the eges curving down like wolvies and not flat against his palm. But perfect apart from that

Cheer Craig. The whole length of the blade thing you point out immediately occurred to me when he unsheathed them in the movie, then a cool fight sequence and prof's cameo washed any logic anyway. I like your thinking on the mask - had not occurred to me before now.

Great work. The only thing I didn't like about the redesign was that unless his blades were telescoping then he wouldn't be able to use his elbows when they were sheathed, but I suppose that holds true for Wolverine at times too.
This is a great custom, and I really like the paint effects on the face.
I think the idea behind the face had to be an artistic take on his mask. It's hard for anyone to look at the Deadpool mask and not think Spider-man, so this take is, I think, a way to keep the 'only the eyes' approach of Deadpool's mask without actually going down the mask route (which I think the movies want to stay away from).
But anyway, I don't think this great custom should get overshadowed by movie vs. comic character discussions. Great work Glenn!!

I'm the opposite - I just don't get why comic book Deadpool gets all the fanboys hot under the collar and just think the movie version is just a really cool design.
I based the figure on his movie appearance in which the character has no arm bandages. You'll also notice I rendered his surgical markings black as per the movie not red like the happy meal, er sorry, hasbro figure.

I like it a lot. though I hate what they did with "deadpool" in the movie and how people think they're deadpool fans because they like this character.
but anyway, wonderful job. my one complain is that you forgot his arm bandages.
otherwise top-notch custom

Thanks - painting those eyes I prayed to the custom gods for a steady hand and it seems my prayer paid off.

I think you captured it perfectly, better than anything hasbro would have made. the think that freaked me out the most about deadpool was his eyes, which you did quite well. good stuff
