This is the last of three warrior angel figures I created. At the time, I was in the midst of reading a lot of DC/Vertigo heaven vs. hell stories (Sandman, Hellblazer, etc.) and I had a blast creating these figures. For this angel figure I used: -XMC Angel (Head, Wings + back piece with screw) -Random LOTR fodder: black-fabric piece with elastics for figures arms -HML Adam Warlock (Hair) -LOTR Gondorian Soldier (Flexible chest armor pieces, torso (modified), thigh armor) -SOTA Chronicles of Riddick "Necromonger" (Waist armor) -LOTR Witch King Wringwraith (arms, legs, pelvis, sword) -LOTR Saracen (spear-ax) -Gel type Superglue -Aves Sculpt -Citadel and Vallejo acyrlic paints -Citadel Sepia, Black, and Flesh Washes -Vallejo Matte and Glossy varnish sealant -x1 Final Fantasy "Play Arts" stand (bronze) I had the most fun creating this angel out of the three - a combination of the assembly know-how gained from the prior two, and the various washes/styling techniques used were great fun to execute. I particularly enjoyed going outside with a lighter to actually burn bits of the Fallen Angel's tattered robe/cape that hands from beneath it's wings. While the Fallen Angels in the DC/Vertigo (or in the etched/woodcut plates from Paradise Lost I was inspired by) didn't have black eyes - I drew inspiration from possessed demons in the TV show "Supernatural". That, and it just looked really neat / matched with the wings/hair. Check out the other two Archangels I've posted - "Gabriel", and "Michael", along with some battle photos. :) Cheers, -Blayne ![]() |
