Shatterstar (Marvel Legends) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:18581
Name:Shatterstar
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Marvel Legends
Creator:tommyx
Date Added:December 7, 2009
Base Figure:See Recipe
Height:6.00 inches
Shatterstar came from MojoWorld, looking for the X-Men's help. Instead, he found Cable and X-Force, and ended up joining their team. He remained with X-Force for many years, eventually departing to find his own way in the world. Oh yeah, and he may or may not be Longshot's son. Or something...
I have depicted Shatterstar in his original costume. For the face, I used Longshot (hey, they may be family!). Dr. Strange was used for the torso and arms. The legs are from movie Mr. Fantastic, and the gloves and belt are from Taskmaster. The hair is from: Angel (top), LCBH Stryker (ponytail),and Street Fighter Cammy (braids). The swords were modified from Ultimate Nightcrawler's. The headgear, shoulder pad, cape, and silver weapon were created from various pieces of plastic/rubber, and the weapon sheath is from Judge Dredd. After I finished painting the figure, I thought the white costume looked too 'clean', so I dirtied it up with some grey and light blue paint. At any rate, I busted my hump on this figure, and it remains one of my personal favourites.

To fuzzfoot, G Brand, Golden Wolf, comicustoms!, and redmist: many thanks for the kind words. Always appreicated! This one was a lot of hard work, and a lot of waiting. It was in the planning stages for about a year, waiting for all the right ingredients to come together!
To Goliath: Always great to hear from a fellow Marvel Zombie! And I remember your Shatterstar, good stuff. Both of them!
To fastfreddie: Thanks, and that's funny! And if I remember correctly, Liefeld stole the name from Marvel, too! There was another otherworldly character around in the Marvel Universe before Liefeld's Shatterstar, a member of the Kree. BTW, you should post your '84 design and let us 'Realmers pick the best one!
regards,
Chris aka tommyx

DAMMIT BOY! that's a hard character to make in my opinion and to get right like you did is TOO SWEET! Nothing bad for me to say about it. Although I've always harbored ill-will against Liefield for taking a name I had thought up before he did(I'm sure of it), his Shatterstar design is 100times better than the one I created back in '84...lol!

Excellent custom of one of my old favorite heroes... Just one thing: Aren't his feet a bit *LARGE* for a Rob Liefeld character? Oh well, at least his weapon is totally drawn in perspective!
