Hey all, another bit-o-fun from your resident Irishman.

Heads up--I wrote a lot this time!

I love the Arkham Asylum game. The graphics rock, considering you can play the game in regular vision or that 'Detective Mode' vision. Simply bad-a$$. I saw a lot of Batman Arkham figures from you guys--and they all looked cool, (2DToys version stands out for me).
I scooped up a Scorpion because I saw THAT Batman in him. Big. Bulky. Rough. Plus the ridges on his suit with little rivets smacked of industrial armor.

I sculpted the Bat cowl onto Scorps' cranium and more to build up the chest, arms, legs, and the lines in each part of the armor. I really wanted to capture the spirit of the game--a dude who looked like he could jack you AND all your drunken Irish cousins up! I sculpted the guantlets and shin guards with Aves onto the hands and boots and used a LOTR Legolas belt from his gear for the straps on both. I sculpted the bat-symbol on his chest at the behest of KATOSUKI, who thought it would stand out better.

The cape is a huge piece of dark blue cloth cut into a giant semi-cricle-with wide bat tips--and I used my fold-sealing technique with fabric glue to hold the folds. I also dry-brushed dark blue and black onto it to help it pose better--you can flare it, crinkle it to one side, or collapse it. His utility belt is from a Face-Off Cap America (I think) and I cut the pouches off and in half, then sliced the belt longways, to thin it out. Glued that onto the figure and then reglued the half-pouches and placed them closer. I then dry-brushed a gold/yellow mix onto it to give the belt a light but not too metallic color.

The rest of the paint is neutral gray, and trimmed in dark blue and black over the appropriate areas. For the guantlets and shin guards I added a top coat of clear blue, to give it a sheen that stood out from the flat gloves/boots. Lastly I scultped him a batarang.

Comment away and enjoy!
