Made in 2005. The Green Lantern Corps(GLC) is one of my favorite groups. I had all of the GL figures which had been released at the time, Hal, John, Kyle, Guy, Allan, and Tomar-Re. Unsatisfied with this, we had made Flodo Span and we now wanted Glaius Zed. We started with a Magic 8 Ball, drained the blue liquid from the center chamber and refilled with green liquid(water + food color) and reassembled it. We tried a few schemes for the legs, and after verifying that the character has 2 legs in front and a third, larger, leg in back started looking at spare limbs which would be a good base to work from. We used Marvel Select's Electra legs as the figure came with an extra set(and we had more than 4 sets total). We took 2 legs and wired them together, and again using Bondo created the single leg look. His arms are Starman from DC Direct, and were inserted by drilling 1/2 of a hole in each side of the 8 ball, and re-closing around the knob which normally inserts into the shoulder. His face is a JJ the Flying Airplane clearance item stuffed toy with plastic face. Unfortunately, though it fit the 8 ball perfectly, it was glued on askew, so his face is always on a slight angle. The face is also a bit too cheery for the character. Now we have our bounding member of the GLC. We want to revisit this, eventually, but for now we are relatively happy with the result.

History of Glaius Zed.
Galius Zed first met Hal Jordan of Earth, during the war against Krona and Nekron. A noble Green Lantern, Galius participated in many adventures with the Corps. He served as part of the invasion force sent to Qward to destroy the Anti-Green Lantern Corps.
Obviously trusted by the Guardians of the Universe, he was asked to take part in a "psychodrama" designed to test Hal Jordan's capabilities as a Green Lantern.
He survived the so-called Crisis on Infinite Earths, and presumably lost his power ring after the Trial of Sinestro and the subsequent collapse of the Main Power Battery on Oa.
After the destruction of the Green Lantern Corps, John Stewart was chosen by the Controllers for the Darkstars. To fill the void left by the Corps, Stewart recruited a number of former Green Lanterns, including Varix, Charlie Vicker, Hollika Rahn and Galius Zed.
Their first mission was to Talyn, a planet which had been devastated by Psi-Mon. Galius Zed later went to Earth to drive off an alien crime syndicate.
Shortly after the Controllers abandoned the Darkstar project, there arose a new threat to the galaxy. Gravyen, the third son of Darkseid, had carved a path of destrution across the Milky Way galaxy. Though they numbered only eighteen, the few Darkstars with power armor took a stand on Rann.
The Darkstars were brutally attacked in a surprise assault. Charlie Vicker was cut down by one of Grayven's army. Eventually, John Stewart and Kyle Rayner managed to defeat Grayven by blasting him with a Mega Zeta beam cannon.
Galius Zed, Munchukk, Chaser Bron, and Ferrin Colos remained on Rann to help Adam Strange rebuild the battered city of Ranagar.
The Darkstars were soon needed to fight once more, this time against the threat of Hyanthis. The would-be Empress of Rann used mind control to pitt the Zaredians against the Darkstars, creating a diversion while she kidnapped Aleea, the daughter of Adam Strange. Hyanthis might have suceeded but for the arrival of Superboy and the Ravers. Her plans were crushed again.
Though Superboy and the Ravers had saved the day, it was still a victory for the Darkstars. They had gained acceptance from the city-state of Zared, a longtime enemy of Ranagar.
Galius Zed had little time to celebrate this victory, he was killed by the woman known as Fatality. She was stalkng ex-Green Lanterns across the universe, killing them in her quest for vengeance. Fatality's ultimate target was on Earth, former Green Lantern John Stewart.

I saw one that was made out of a tennis ball. I could find the link if you wanted to try a new version of Galius.
