Inspired by pulyfiction's He-man recipe, I went to work on my Ares. head: sota open mouth Guile Torso: Savage Dragon Arms: Sota Akuma? Left hand: Hasbro Thor Legs: Wraal Helmet: the part over the face is part of the Wraal helmet. from the ears back and the top is epoxy sculpted and sanded. Chest Armor and Knee pads are foamie and head phone wire with some epoxy. Axe is from 200X Ram Man. Knife is from Conan. Belt is foam and belt buckle is twist ties. This one character I have been wanting to do for awhile and had the parts for him in a zip lock bag. LOL.. Holidays didn't leave much time to do much.. Comments and Feedback Welcome. ![]() |

Keep them coming Pulpy, I am a fan of yours too.
Supersize, I did sculpt the skull on the chest. I was wanted to do something a little more ornate for the armor but, Ares is not about that so keeping it simple seemed to fit the character.
Crisco, I did the boil and pop method for the legs. The Savage Dragon pegs were a little too small for the Wraal leg holes so I had to use some epoxy to make the fit nice and snug. They still retain the articulation.
Again really appreciate the feedback. I will be returning the favor this week as I find time to sit down and look at all the great stuff I have missed.
BTW, I have some WIP pics at on my myspace page..
Thank you so much! I am such a big fan of your work, and to think something I did made you think about your own work, really inspires and motivates me to work harder and try to push the envelope on my stuff!!!
But to comment on the work itself, the paints are tight, and the sculpt/assembly of parts is great. I have to say the leather bands on the left arm are quite good, and I like the use of the wrarrl for the legs, the armored feet look badass!
Excellent work - the use of the SOTA arms really makes the figure.
