I'm not that great of a customizer yet...so, many of my figures are the simplest ones to create. this is a basic repaint of a captain britian figure. a cut out foam belt was added and a cut out peice of watercolor paper and a small metal bead for the "unicorn" weapon on his helmet. painted and airbrushed for detail...and hello! another satisfied customer!
appreciate it the info, JIN. I do have some of that krylon clear now and you are right, it works pretty good for the most part, on some plastics it's still sticky. I used the gloss sealer on Unicorn instead of the matte.
Nice paintjob! I remember the character from yeeeeears ago, never seen someone make a figure out of him tho! If I may make a suggestion, pick up some Krylon Matte Cystal Clear. That doesn't give off a gloss coat and won't make a figure sticky. I use it on most of my figures when I need to seal, or the Satin for over metallic colors.
No, they aren't gloss...just painted it with paintbrush to lay down the base colors and then went over it with an airbrush. the shine comes mainly from the protective sealant...which wasn't supposed to be gloss, but made it shine anyways. some people don't like that shiny effect you get, sometimes it looks pretty good I suppose. I guess it depends on the figure and a matter of opinion
I don't even really remember unicorn myself...but I was trying to find an easy figure to customize and saw a photo of him...so I figured I would give it a shot. I know he was oldschool cause I found his photo in the 80's handbook of the marvel universe.
hey man I found the site and created a profile, I figured I'd drop a line on Unicorn since this is probably my favorite custom of yours on here, when are you gonna upload some more? I think the custom painted Wolverine would be nice on here after the claw work. oh yeah in case you're wondering my pic is from an old episode of "South Park" with Robert Smith from The Cure haha
I appreciate the flowers...this figure is really pretty easy to do. I just primed it in a white base coat and went from there...it's amazing what airbrushing can do. I don't really know any other tricks to do the top notch custom paint jobs you see on some of these customs other guys can do without an airbrush. I'm learning, though. airbrushing is really only good for the shading, I want to start doing the really hard detail work soon.

I always wanted to do Unicorn but so many figures and not enough time.
I know he was oldschool cause I found his photo in the 80's handbook of the marvel universe.
