Saw these guys in concert a few years back, and just kept wondering if those 2 guys on stage were in fact the real deal? Because they always wear their helmets in public, their identity is concealed, so technically couldn't they hire any 2 dudes to go on tour, dress up as them, play their music, and the "real" guys could sit comfortably at home in their pj's and just collect the royalties? Man, that would be smart! In fact, they should do a World Tour and appear simultaneously at every show, in every city - so no one would know which show had the real duo! Besides, every one at the concert would be so freaked out on some sorta hallucinogenic cookie anyway, no one would care if they were real, just rock it!
Daft Punk are members Guy-Manuel (one with the back-pack) and Thomas Bangalter. Used Ghost Rider as base, replaced the hands from a Mcfarlane Assassin One & Star Trek Borg. Used a pair of wrestler's boots, and sneakers from Anne O'brien for the gold converse. The helmets were modified from a Playmobil helicopter pilot figurine. The visors were clear plastic strips, cut to fit in to place. Before the visors went in, all the digital components, either using colored beads, or painted details were done inside, then the plastic covers went over, and sculpted around. The completed helmets were then sculpted to a swivel neck.
Heard thru the electronic grapevine that the duo is indeed doing a World Tour in 2010-2011 (a lot of fake ones out there lol, check their myspace for verified tour dates.) The last pic sorta shows just how fun their concerts are, with all kinds of fans showing up for the pretty lights and block rocking beats!
