Deathlok Captain America (Marvel Legends) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:2253
Name:Deathlok Captain America
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Marvel Legends
Creator:caretaker68
Date Added:April 4, 2007
Base Figure:Deathlok and Captain America
Height:6.00 inches
In my regular RPG group I have twisted and tweaked several of the existing Marvel characters into something I would find playable and fresh.
To that end I have created a campaign based around Captain America getting wounded (shades of my RPG world affecting the comics, huh?) and becoming Deathlok, a mercenary seeking The Shelter.
Easy boil and pop and repaint on both Deathlok and Captain America, the tubes into his chest represent the cybernetics keeping his lungs functioning.
Modified Deathlok's original gun, gave him Cap's shield and done.
Hope you enjoy.

Besides the ML Deathlok and Captain America? Just a scope from another gun superglued to the top of Deathlok's original gun, the tubing is half from Bane from The Batman animated series (the new one) and the silver tubing is from something I can't remember.
Like everyone else here, I assume, I keep tupperware tubs full of parts, accessories, misc stuff I may need later on for something and thats where the other tubing came from.
Pouches and holsters I make from leather that used to belong to an old coat I wore out and just tore into strips and use in my customs.....simple stuff ya know.

Those tubes are just superglued to him, I didn't wanna offend Death-Cap by actually cutting into his chest, besides it mighta made him mad.
Is that what you meant?

I like the mods to the DL gun, that look smuch better.
My only critique, I would have used the surgical tubing that you added for the whole run of the "lung tubes" instead of splicing into the silver bits that actually go into his chest.
Really cool concept though, and I love to see people's RPG characters made onto figs!

I will work on the shield, I never thought of that cause in the RPG campaign I am currently in, the shield is what Deathlok is looking for only its in pieces and they need to be recovered and put back together...although it wouldn't be a bad idea to color it that way and then take more pix.
Thanks for the suggestion, I am going to work on that later on today, maybe....kids willing.

Cool, looks awesome.
The only thing I would change is the shields coloring. Maybe change the blue to black to go with the costume. A wicked looking figure though(simple is always best), he gets 5 outta 5 from me

Yeah the left arm is slightly lower than the right cause I used the upper part of Cap's arm and Deathlok's whole right arm for the custom, I never noticed it before but I do now.
Is it just me or does taking pictures of your customs always point out the flaws you never noticed before?
Looking at my pix I always seem to notice things I should have taken care of before then get mad at myself for not noticing it and can't do a thing about it after I have already submitted it....rambling, will stop now.

Grey? No I actually painted it black and white, some of the color may be messed up by the camera I have distorting the image sometimes....it was a freebie so I can't complain too much.
The diorama behind it is something I built using backgrounds I found on a website for the JLU animated series and toys, I will get you the site address if you want and show off the diorama itself if you want...you know, for making something to take pictures of toys in front of.
Thanks for the comments.

cool concept I like it my only question is is the figure actually grey or did you photoshop it to black and white? Also I consider deathlok a zombie I think you should have entered him in the contest. Just MO
