As for your shoulder problem, whiskeytango has a good idea. This would be one way to assure the fit, but this might not work if the shoulders don't fit their mounts in the torso.
I also have another thought to deal with what might be your problem. Is the holes for the pegs from the shoulder too small to fit the larger shoulder peg? If so you can drill the hole larger (CAREFULLY!!!), to fit the larger peg. If you should go too far doing this, making the hole just a tad bigger, is what you do if the peg hole size is to being for the shoulder pegs as well. You fit it into place by fitting with epoxy making sure it keeps rotation by checking it and moving it intermittently as it is drying (when putting it down: keep the arm in a position that keeps the correct form).
However if the shoulder peg just doesn't fit the concave of where the shoulder fits into the bicepts/mid-arm section before where the peg actually pops in, then yeah whiskytango has your only solution other than just finding an actual fit with other parts.
