Cable (X-Men) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:2476
Name:Cable
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:X-Men
Creator:avatar_aang
Date Added:April 29, 2007
Base Figure:XMC Wolverine head + XMC Sabretooth body
Height:6.00 inches
I got an XMC Sabretooth for free when I bought an XMC Angel because there was a Buy one take one sale and they were paired, but I just hate the Sabretooth fig coz it was really UGLY! So I decided to make use of his body. I had an extra XMC Wolvy w/ the black jacket so I thought about a character that I could make with them. Since I did'nt have a cable fig, I decided to make me one

Recipe:

Head: Wolverine - dremelled and sanded the heavens out all those facial hair to make his face smooth and angular

Body: Sabretooth - dremelled the right chest and the right arms to add lines so that they would look like metal

Accessories. Belt from unknown old fig, the rest from an XMC cyclops fig

Thanks for viewing him!

Thanks for the comment Dedi. I wanted an XMC Collosus as a base for a lot of my future customs too but unfortunately, it's already out of stock here (sigh) so I had to do with what I had. Anyways, thanks for your input! Very much appreciated!

Really nice work Aang - great custom - especially the sanding work on the Wolverine head - I would never guessed thats what you used
XMC Ult Sabretooth, XMC Collosus and XMC Iceman are three most common figures sold where I stay
So if I was going to do Sabey as Cable I'd just swap out Collosus Head and arm onto the sabertooth body
ans saved myself a lot of dremel work
I make added neck height collars to attach heads onto the sabey neck plugs as heads look squat when added directly to the neck
But you done one hell of a job man - well done

I use a mini-drill my dad bought at a home TV shopping channel here in the philippines. I used the stone grinder/cutter heads of the drill to cut and make the lines. I agree with you that the body of XMC sabey is good to use for bulkier characters. I'm planning to make a colossus fig out of one in the future. Thanks for the comment dude! Much appreciated!

Great dremel job matey- can I ask what sort you use? No matter which attachments I use with mine I don't seem to be getting such a good finish at the moment as the plastic seems to bobble and melt. The XMC Sabes is great for fodder though - once you remove his head his body is perfect for the bulkier charaters - used him for T-Bird, Random and Warpath already!
