Hello, So I took a DCU Blue Beetle, looked at the bulging eyes and immediately thought 1970's Spiderman TV show. I almost went that route, but I hadn't seen one Alex Ross style Spidey and thought--'make him and they will come.' I sculpted over the exposed face on Beetle and added the sharp flair to the bug eyes. I sculpted the spider on his chest--no easy feat, let me tell you! That took the longest, as I had to let the spider body dry before adding the legs. I sculpted the wrist guards and the back of the hands with the armor plate. Then I primed him all black. Painted a silver on the eyes with some clear color dripped on--up close it gives the impression of mirrored eyes reflecting something off them. Next I painted the red and each line of the web in his suit (never, EVER wanting to do that again). I left the flat black, and drybrushed a dark blue over it, to highlight some of his muscles. The photos do okay at capturing it, but it looks better up close. Enjoy/critique/thanks for looking! - Fitz ![]() |

*This one of my favorite designs.
Great job, very clean and well done.
Drawing those webs looks fun but is not, it takes effort like a real spider spinning a web!
