Jim Rhodes was Tony Stark's pilot, and a good friend. When Stark was unable to continue as Iron Man, Rhodey stepped into the armour and joined the Avengers. He eventually got his own version of the suit, and named himself War Machine.
This was my first Marvel Legend custom! The one that got me back into customizing. When the SC Iron Man came out a few years ago, I took one look at it, and knew I had to come out of retirement and turn it into War Machine. I used bungee cord to add to the armour, and the weaponry came from Cable's guns, I believe (can't remember, it was a LONG time ago!). I modified the face-mask slightly, and of course, painted the face. I intended to make the chest-beam circular, but never got around to it! Oh well.
