Finally… DC throws me a bone. My first custom figure since I came back to this hobby was a Christopher Reeve style superman back on the old DC Super Heroes Superman body. It was a favorable likeness and is my first post on here from nearly 3 years ago if not 4 (check it out). This version has finally came together to be the ultimate DC Universe/Movie Masters Man of Steel. I took a DCUC superman body and sanded the body down to a less showy musculature to give the appearance of an outfit versus the standard DCU super buff buck. The belt is removed and flipped so that it sits higher above the upper torso and elongates the lower torso. The cape as always is a pull through cape inserted in the trapezium and fastened inside the body. I have had this body put together for about a month now but today I picked up the new DCU New Krypton figure and came right home and put this together ASAP. I have waited and waited and waited for DC Direct/Mattel to cough up a figure with this likeness and you just about can't do better than this. I have tried several times to develop this likeness by chiseling directly from the stock heads and sculpting the hair on after the fact. Thank you DC Direct, I think you'll see a lot of people buying this figure just to pop the heads off… After I popped this together I pulled down one of my old cylindrical packages and "dah… dah dah dah!!! My dream realized in paper and plastic. What do we think? I even submitted this for Toyfare's Homemade Heroes (fingers crossed) ![]() |
