Happy Holidays.

This was a peach to make compared to some others. Nice clean lines and more of a comic style. Sculpted his head, chest, forearms and boot armor. The chest repulsor is actually a seperate circular disk scultped and glued on after it dried.

He has an orange base coat all around to make the top coats brighter, and to fill in the lines of his musculature. Then came several (like a hundred!)coats of yellow--man I hate painting yellow--for his base armor. I blackened the red armor areas, dry-brushed aluminum over that, and then painted three coats of clear red on top of that. I used solid gloss red to really highlight certain areas, like the chest plate and hands, so they'd be slightly brighter than the rest of the reds.

The chest repulsor is white, edged while wet with clear blue. From certain angles it appears to be an LED.

Biggest regret was that originally you could see the eyes through the mask, and it had a very comic, stylistic feel. I painted them white and lined them with clear blue. I should have just left it--it had that 'man-in-the-iron-mask' vibe!
