Okay, here is one of the most involved customs that I have so far done. From Connor Kent's first Superboy series, issues 76-79 comes his Cadmus Field Agent costume. A LOT of work went into this figure.

The upper body comes from a Diamond Select Buffy the Vampire Slayer Spike figure. After removing it from the lower body, I gouged out the bottom of the shirt and trimmed it back to shorten it. The gouging out of the bottom of the shirt was to make an over-sized peg hole for the lower body which came from a DC Direct New Teen Titans Jericho action figure. I test fitted the lower body into the upper body, and after a little bit more gouging, trimming, and sanding, I glued the lower body into the upper body. Once the glue was dry, I trimmed back the neck and wrists a bit to accommodate the head and hands from a DC Direct Return of Superman Superboy. Since the Superboy neck ball joint was too big, I used my Dremel and engraving tool to reduce that in size to accommodate the Spike figure's neck hole. I also had to remove the wrist pegs from the Superboy arms and fit them into the Spike figure's wrists to accommodate the Superboy gloves. Before the head and hands were attached, I repainted the neck and arms to more match the skin tone of the Superboy head (and to cover up the sanding and trimming that had been done to the neck and wrists). Using my milliput, I filled in the waist gap and the metal rings on the upper parts of the boots. Once the milliput had dried, I sanded it smooth, and removed the boots from the legs to commence painting. The T-shirt had to be FULLY repainted black (even though it was originally black) to cover up the areas that had been sanded, and the pants were painted a slightly darker blue to give it a more dynamic "Superman Family" feel. As soon as the boots had been fully repainted to match what appeared in the comics, I used the "boil and pop" method to reattach them to the lower legs. The final step came with the utility belt. I had one left over from a DC Universe Classics Robin figure, and after using my Dremel to widen the interior hole that had once held it onto the Robin figure, I used my razor knife to take off one of the pouches in the rear. Once properly sanded, trimmed, and test fitted, I glued it onto the body with my Testors model glue, and I used a rubber band to hold it into place while the glue dried. After about 6 hours of glue drying time, I removed the rubber band and touched up the paint in spots where it was needed. Finally, I glued on one of my hand made and photocopier shrunk symbols, and TA-DA, Superboy in his Cadmus Field Agent Costume was done.
