Here's my entry into the custom challenge between myself and Mega_Star_Andro. Also the latest in my Thundercats AKA line (this challenge was right up my street). I made Tygra to be taller than the rest of my tcats as in most cartoons the clever one is often depicted as the tallest. So he's over 10" tall and he's whopper. Also wanted to make him look a bit more real worldy (??) in is colouring so I played down the cartoony orange look he has.

Here's his story:

After the Thundarians escaped their dying planet they went into stasis. During their stasis Jaga, (who had stayed awake to pilot the ship), became very old and very frail. It was inevitable that he would soon pass. After he died the ship was left pilotless and crashed into a red planet just near third earth. However, before the ship crashed the stasis pods were ejected into space. Each pod scattered from the stricken ship in different directions. Tygra's pod was the only one who actually reached their intended destination of Third Earth. Upon Landing Tygra was greeted by a mysterious plant like creature named Silky (See episode: the garden of delights). Silky offered Tygra shelter and food which he gladly accepted. However, Silky was actually Mumm-Ra in disguise and he had tricked Tygra. The food he gave him was the fruit of delight and was well known for it's addictive and hallucinagenic properties. Tygra was soon under the spell of "Silky" and quickly became his slave, working just to feed his habit for fruit. Mumm-Ra has now revealed himself to Tygra and they have come to an agreement. Tygra keeps watch over the garden of delights to prevent theft of Mumm-Ra's crop and Mumm-Ra keeps Tygra in house and food. As an empoyee of Mumm-Ra Tygra has been banned from wearing any symbol's indicating his loyalty to anyone else, including his home symbol of Thundera.

Recipe:
Upper Torso = Sasquatch.
Arms = Sasquatch about 1mm taken from each section to shorten them then glued and sculpted to blend.
Hands = given same treatment as arms 1mm from each section including fingers. Sculpted fur.
Crotch and upper legs = SOTA T-Hawk white version (really wish I'd had the blue one) Sculpted belt buckle.
Lower legs and feet = Sasquatch, dremmeled down a ton foamy for the boots and wire for trim, sculpted foot part and two "pearls" for his jewels.
Vest = hand sewn and painted with fabric paints
Head = Fantastic 4 thing as a base sculpted everything but the nose and eyes.
Whip = SOTA Birdie flick comb for handle, twistie ties and the wife's old jewels for the balls.

Not 100% happy with the arms (bit too long) but I looked and looked and couldn't find anything better so for now they'll do. Had a blast on this one and I'm now caling my AKA line finished...............for now.

-Countpitchula, yeah had two sassy's for quite a while now and it is hard to pick a subject to use him on, thanks for the praise mate, much appreciated.
-Toxin Venom, I agree I think his face could be paler but I was trying to dim down his cartoony appearance, guess I went to far, cheers!
-Getsa, thanks dude, I just think they don't quite fit in scale wise but like you said it's my Tygra and I can do what I want
-Finn Vara, thanks man and thanks again for testing out the sealant for me, not a single sticky patch on him.
-Leafman343, thanks for the comment pal.
-BKZ, as always a pleasure, just feel the need to point out I didn't sculpt the eyes or nose but I think I'm gonna try a full sculpt pretty soon.

This is a really good concept, but what kept it from being great for me is that you didn't do CLASSIC TYGRA colors and pale face. But great job overall!

the hand sewn vest looks good on him. nice sculpt over the thing head too!
you don't have to worry about the arm length as it is your re-imagination of tygra, so whatever look you want to give him would pass and I personally think it looks great.
+1!
