Colossus made a good base figure for this project..all except the shoulder joints...there was such a huge gap after removing the chest piece that I had to sculpt his shoulders and make it look more tolerable...resulting in no shoulder movement. it looks better anyways without those huge gaps at the shoulder joints. I did a lot of sanding on this figure to remove most of the steel lines and sculpted the gloves and boot tops. base painted black and then did the yellow, did the splatter effect for the body of energy look, added the beads(painted them gold and yellow clear) and then added the foam belt and used buttons for the center piece. another member of the IMPERIAL GUARD.
ASTRA is next on this list this week and if I am lucky maybe HUSSAR...I don't know I have to go home thursday or friday and won't be able to work on any then...have to work on them at work...lol!
I thank you all for the inspiring comments...trick for doing that splatter effect with an airbrush is...bend the air hose allowing almost no air through...press trigger down on airbrush to load up paint on the needle and then barely, very slowly unbend airhose while rocking trigger back and forth splatter paint all over desired location. believe it or not no splatter on the yellow occured while doing this. also..AZTEK airbrushes have interchangeable nozzles for the splatter effect if anyone is interested in the future in getting into airbrushing. I use Iwata hp's and custom micron...aztek is good for beginner and not as costly
