I finished a Marvel Universe scaled Thundarr a few weeks ago and he needed his companions to be complete. Ookla needed to be bigger than Thundar (who is already way bigger than the average 3 3/4 figs since I used a Doc Sampson for his base). For Ookla, I used a Spiderman Series Venom upper body and Wolverine Series Sabretooth legs. I sculped the head and mane from scratch, extended the shins for a litte more height and retooled the boots and feet. Love how he tuned out.
Found some cheap horses that are perfectly scaled yesterday - just need to paint up Thundarr and Ariel's. Ookla's Equart Horse will require some sculpted details but should be fun. Also got the figure parts together for the evil wizard Gemini.
Thanks for the props. Not usually a big fan of the smaller figs either but the 3 3/4 modern Thor and Planet Hulk in the Marvel Universe line are incredible. Plus I thought it would be cheaper to do horses for the heroes to ride and villains for them to beat up in the smaller scale. Notice I said cheaper not easier. Working with figures this small is a pain At least they don't take mush space to display.
