I've been wanting to make a diorama of the Hall of Armor for my massive 6in Iron Man collection for ages, but then after seeing a lot of cool battle scene dios via GOOGLE I decided to make a mock battle scene for War Machine (or Iron Man). Started with a blank unfinished wooden plaque from Hobby Lobby, then cut pieces of cardboard and stacked them glued together to build up sections of the ground, then created thin mache out of glue and water with strips of party streamer I had laying around. Used plant moss from Wal-Mart (found with the fake flowers) with some dirt as the main greenery with some vase filler stone/sand for the rocky portion. Followed by lots of fodder parts (megablocks iron man, HOM iron man gun, etc.) with some wires and stuff I repainted on the ground for rubble and destruction. added paint to the gravel mix such as wash mixes of brown, black, and grey to give it a more earthy feel. the black also to represent oil from destroyed drones. My main goal was for my 6 inch figures (such as the Wal-Mart exclusive War Machine in the solo pics) but discovered it works great with the Iron Man 3 3/4 line very well. So I set up my Hammeroids and Re-release war machine for example. hope you like it!
Maybe I'll actually get into making Dio's with actual dio supplies lol, since I don't have the time for figures right now. Finished in 2 nights. total of MAYBE 4 1/2 hours.
