Earth X Moon Knight (Earth X) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:2765
Name:Earth X Moon Knight
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Earth X
Creator:VariablePenguin
Date Added:May 29, 2007
Base Figure:ML Bullseye
Height:6.00 inches
In a future than may occur: Marc Spector battles an endless fight against the Sons of Set outside of the Temple of Konushu. Everyone of their number he kills, rises again to attack him, but anytime he dies, he also rises again. He is not alive. He is like the moon: a reflection of what he used to be.

I had been wanting to do this figure for a while now and this contest gave me a reason to do it. The base body is a Bullseye with some sculpting on the legs for pants. I did some Dremeling on his gloves to thin them out some. His bandages are made from first aid tape cut and wrapped around him. He retains all of his articulation but some is limited in areas like his stomach. The head is actually a cast of an XMX Angel with some super heavy Dremeling to remove all of his hair. The cloak is made of a gauze like fabric cut and sewn. It is suspended by 2 packaging wires that are removeable and fit into holes in his upper back. The Uzi is from a Sin City figure.

Hey, I think he looks cool either way. Especially if you look at the other costumes of that time period.

Well he definitely looks the coolest now. Compare how he looked before...
...to how he looks now.

Personally, I never actually read any of his comics (hence the lack of fan base). I just always thought he looked awesome!

Well like I said before, I've heard the new version of him is much cooler (I heard he even peeled some guy's face off... eeeewwww! )... but did you not think the old version was kinda lame? I mean, he got killed off in the 90s because he really had no fan base.

Well I think it's supposed to be a Crescent Moon, what with being Moon Knight and all. But he's rich and he can call his pilot whatever the heck he wants.

That's a killer fig, Penguin... very nice detail on the bandages.
That said, gawd how I hate Moon Knight as a character. I've heard the new revamp version's supposed to be better, but oh man he sucked back in the 80s... he flew around in a (I kid you not) croissant shaped jet piloted by a guy named Frenchie.

Whoa, man. I just taking the piss outa ya...lol.. I can care less, I think it looks good. If anything I think every one should use one. The real point of my previous post was to tell ya good job and I like your custom. Your welcome
Oi! I don't care man! I was just screwing with you too. I indeed did copy you actually. I thought yours looked really good. I like the neutrality of it. And thanks for the kind words on my figure.

Greymonk - The bandaging with down with Johnson & Johnson First Aid tape, cut in half lengthwise and wrapped around him. I glued the last edge down so it wouldn't all unravel. I then painted it a sandy brown color and dry brushed white over it.
Geppetto - I didn't really lose much articulation. His waist still moves a bit.
Deadeye - Wow! Thanks man!

Sorry for letting you down VP - I'll stick a Bullseye as well as an iceman in your package too when I post it off

the only thing that make me sob is the loss of articulation for the sake of sculpting, I'm pretty sure it was hard for you to give up that torso joint for the sake of realism

How did you do the bandages? They look real. Well done and 4th place is better than anything I've earned yet, haven't had the stones to enter one yet myself! I'll remedy that fear with the Demon contest though assuming I get it done in time. I keep adding to it though lol!

Yeah Maelstrom that is Alex Ross's work. It's the cover of the one Universe X comic Moon Knight appears in. I scanned it out of my graphic novel just so everyone would have some reference to what I was trying to do. And 4th place isn't shabby at all. If you look at my previous contest results, you'll see I've done quite well in the past.

Hey Penguin, I just want to say that I think you always do top notch work. This was a great choice for the contest, I really enjoy seeing customs of characters that have rarely been done before (or never). Anyways, I'm surprized that this entry did not place higher. I figured it would be in the top three. Alex Ross is such a great artist, and it was clever to include the pin-up with your photos...that is by A.R. right? I've never seen that picture before, but the style is almost unmistakeably his. Great work on yet another fine custom. Very clean and sharp!
