The earth shudders and the birds in the canopy overhead take raucous flight as a mass of sickly green flesh crashes into the mossy ground just ahead of you. The lump quivers and rises to its feet, unfolding as it stands, to reveal an obscenity unlike anything you have ever seen. Eight mismatched insect-like limbs, each tipped with a sickle-shaped claw, radiate outwards from a grossly mutated humanoid body. From your intelligence briefings, you recognize the exposed heart on the thing's chest as the tell-tale sign, and vulnerable spot, of the Tyrant series of biological weapons. Raising your automatic rifle, you let loose a burst at the pulsing organ, but, with uncanny reflexes, the creature reacts by shielding the intended target with its many appendages, and your bullets ricochet harmlessly off of its unbelievably tough hide instead. Spittle flies from the monster's many-mandibled maw as it bellows a challenge in return and advances, its scythe-like limbs threshing through the air in anticipation of slicing you to bloody ribbons . . . ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jabberwock S3s are many-limbed abominations that can be encountered in Chapters 3, 4, and 6 of the "Operation: Javier" scenario in Capcom's 2009 Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles Nintendo Wii video game. These dangerous creatures can be bought on the black market and are the product of one of Umbrella's competitors. Jabberwock S3s are thought to be a further mutation/refinement of the Bandersnatch model B.O.W. (Bio Organic Weapon) accomplished via the T-Veronica virus (given their physiology, arthropod DNA may also have been a component used in their creation). Javier Hidalgo, the leader of the South American drug cartel "Sacred Snakes", has purchased several of these monsters for the purpose of (lethally) deterring anyone who gets too curious about his shady operations. Like the previously mentioned Bandersnatch, the Jabberwock's name comes from Lewis Carroll's "Jabberwocky" poem, which appeared in 1872's Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There. A Jabberwock S3 is brutally direct in a fight--it rushes the enemy and proceeds to rip them to shreds with its arms and jaws. Their superhuman strength, resistance to injury, and ferocity make them formidable opponents--in close quarters combat, just one of these monsters can easily hack apart an entire squad of armed soldiers in less than a minute, especially if the beast catches them by surprise. Like many Tyrant-derived B.O.W.s, the Jabberwock S3 has a dangerous design flaw: the naked heart is exposed on the chest, rather than being safely housed away inside the body. The creature is, however, intelligent enough to recognize this, and frequently shields the enlarged organ with some of its arms (which can be knocked away by the player's gunfire to restore line of sight to the weak point). ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Materials: Newsprint, tissue paper, white glue, acrylic paint, wire twist ties, gloss nail polish, plastic (transparent base only), and super glue. Dimensions: 3.5 cm/1.4 in. x 4.9 cm/1.9 in. (widest point x highest point) Excluding the raised arms, the figure is 3.6 cm/1.4 in. tall at the top of its arched back. Time: Three days: March 23, 24, and 26 (2011). ![]() |

in the realm and I'm a fan of your work
BDCdiesel: The only other RE figure I've sculpted, besides the three I did for this particular contest, was a Bandersnatch, which you can view here if you're interested:

EDIT: Obviously when the contest has ended. Whoever you are....
