On a remote scottish Island in the 40s - This was the conundrum that plagued Professor Broom of the Bureau. of Paranormal. Research and Defense (B.P.R.D.)
An organisation founded by Predident Roosevelt to combat rising, insidious occult societies during World War 2 - when he and a crack platoon of US Soldiers foiled a Nazi attempt to harness occult forces to win the war

The Eldritch rift in time and space - and the spaces between them - opened by the immortal Russian mystic Grigori Rasputin and the Nazi Thula Society was sealed shut by their apparent "deaths" and an age of Evil and Darkness averted...

But although the Dark Gods, the Nazis in their arrogance wanted to yolk to their service, did not enter our plane of existence - something else DID enter our world....

Broom could have let his troops kill him, but instead he took pity on the foundling, adopted him and named him.....HELLBOY


Flash forward 60 years Later and the secret war between the occult forces of Darkness and the B.P.R.D is still being waged...
The B.P.R.D are our only hope of surviving this war

Broom was a casualty in the eternal war between good and evil, but he made his mark upon the worldby rearing a demon against its nature to be a good man
But a man nevertheless - with free choice - with great potential for good and evil...

HELLBOY leads the forces of humanity to Bump back at those that "Go Bump In The Night" - Now a 7 foot tall demon from the pit, possessing hell-spawned strength, agility and endurance.
Armed with the gigantic SAMARITAN handcannon capable of firing highly destructive anti-occult and mission variable shells
Armed with his...er.. ARM - a stone, Red Right Hand of Destruction - indestructable to any damage and coupled with his brute, hellborn strength - his main immensely destructive weapon against evil
He is a foresworn to the protection of all mankind and to put his hellish brethern back in their place - along with help from other BPRD agents and close friends - Aquatic Abe Sapien and Pyrokinetic Liz Sherman

But for all his might... Hellboy is a lost soul - though he has the overly muscular body of a 60 year old hell demon, he ages slower metally and has the personality of a teenage boy and - all the immaturity, angst and unrulyness that comes with it
And he is deeply in love with Liz Sherman, cats and chili...

Hellboy has forsworn to honor the memory of his adopted "father" Professor Broom
by becoming a better person than his birth predestined him to be
But nevertheless he is a DEADLY DEMON to anyone that chooses to meet him in battle

Scratchbuilt sculpted face and Red right hand Of Destruction (made from Hulklings original hand with apoxy Sculpt with Red Sculpey overlay ontop of a Glue tube top and Screwnail
Base was a Young Avengers boxszet Hulkling - resculpt work on the chest and neck to get Hellbous Muscleman T-shirt look but still keep Hulklings groovy shirt detailing

Left hand from a Marvel Legends Frankenstein with extra scuplting to make Hellboys
Gunhand Gauntlet

Gun from a 12" GI joe modded with a drink straw and kit bits and apoxy sculpt to make his signature "SAMARITAN" hand cannon

Utility belt made using ammo pouches from 12" figures as well as scartcg built ones
Each belt pouch is Openable (Still to fill each with counter-occult stuff and bullets)
Belt buckle made from a printout decal

Flexible prehensile tail from a flexible mini demon that came with the Spawn Gravedigger (great figure and accessories - so much stuff I've used from that)

Trenchcoat sewn from two 12" GI Joe combat Jackets
Trenchcoat shoulder BPRD emblem badge - again from a printout decal attached to plastic card and a snap fastener....

Basic Red acrylic paintjob apps and dark ink wash
