And if ya don't have sculpt, try making your own designs out of household items-Twist Ties can EASILY be painted and bent to simulate flame and hot glue gives a creative natural flame to things(though I suggest making the hot glue flame idea on a glass surface first, remove it, THEN glue it on to the figure-don't want to melt a figures arm with hot glue LOL)
Looks good and it also looks like the paint didn't want to stick to the figure. Remember to wash the figure before you paint it. That mold release is a nightmare (no offense Doc) to work with and it will make your job unuusally difficult when painting. I think it was good that you attempted flames painted on the arms and legs. This is tough to get right, flames are difficult (realistic flames that is) and it's good to see you tackling such a challenging task. Remember though that figures are 3D, so where possible, you want to give the viewer as much 3D as you cna give them. Learn to rely on sculpting things in 3D rather than trying to just paint them. It will be amazing practice and when you get it (and you will if you stick with it!) you'll feel GREAT! Don't give up!!
I agree w/Dr. Nightmare sometimes custom figures need more than a paint job. As you get better customizing you can experiment by adding extra pieces to the original figure along with the paint job.
