hey there realmers! long time no post! hehe!

base figure is a mattel triple H action figure, head from a neca SF ken.
re-sculpted the hair, face, chin, jaw, eyes, nose. sculpted the gloves, boxing trunks/shorts.

and look! he has his trademark bear scratch scar on his chest too!

the whole figure was then repainted, gave him some nice dry brushing on the skin tones so the ripped muscles would pop out. details on his trunks were also hand painted.

the bear suit came from a cheap brown teddy bear. i cut it to pieces, sew it myself and then sculpted the bear head. i then soaked it on black acrylic paint to make the fur color black.

the boxing ring was made from scratch. a plastic pole of an old calendar for the ring post, plastic folder slide and a bamboo plank for the corner padding. metal wires for the ropes, and then covered it with a plastic drinking straw. the canvass/flooring was from a hard cardboard box, and the stand/clamp was from a receit/sign holder, heated a plastic pen and bent it to make a clamp that would hold the figure on the waist, and there you go!

well, i know only a few people around here would recognize the character. he's from an anime/manga HAJIME NO IPPO.
he's arguably the strongest (and most arrogant) boxer in the whole world! hehe! he's the mentor of the main character of the series (ippo makunouchi).

mamoru takamura never loses a fight as he have this supernatural like powers. well, he almost lost some because he's too cocky and won't take the opponents seriously, but heck, when he's serious, no one could stand on his way! he even defeated a wild black bear just by punching it repeatedly with his bare fists! he then used the bear skin and made it into his boxing robe for his entrance on one of his championship matches.
(talk about showboating... haha!) yeah, he's an arrogant character, but he can talk the talk and walk the walk, and he's funny most of the time so he's one of my most favorite characters.

a lot of effort went into making this fig a 100% accurate representation of the anime/manga character. he's also super poseable and playable.
i also had fun taking pictures of him as it's fun to play and put him into different poses.
